I'm in the dark. Walking streets that I know.
Seeing faces familiar. But cannot recall
Somehow I feel lost? These people were my friends?
They hurt the ones I loved. I believed in them.
I'm no idiot yet I followed their trail .
Stepping over casualties along the way.
I had it all but thought there was more.
Just finding out some things can't be bought
going round in circles, and sideways like a crab
Afraid of moving forward and always looking back
You see I lost Jesus when I found god.
Who's gonna save me? You? I think not.
the years roll on and here I am
Now I can bear to look myself in the eye.
Look in the mirror and not avert my eyes.
Learned to keep my thoughts locked inside my head.
And not unleash my ideals on an unsuspecting world.
My words they were my weapon used for hurt and not for good
Sometimes fuelled with alcohol, they got the taste for blood
Cos I look for the best in folk, yet always find the worst
I got low expectations now so I cannot be hurt
People always say that I think too much. Over-analyse and criticise.
No more crying home alone into my half empty glass
I wanna take the positives in my life
The years roll on and here I am.
What was I thinking coming to this place?
Too many questions that i'm afraid to ask.
Or is it the answers that I really fear
Will curiosity kill this cat
Here I am one score and ten years on.
There's broken people, big mistakes.
Summer sun and happy days,
not all been bad for heavens sake.
Here I am

You broke my heart and now I can't function
I had forgot how to live on my own
Head for the coast to find some redemption
Boarding a ferry to old Amsterdam
Chorus
If this wasn't love, then it wouldn't matter
If it wasn't your ring I wear on my finger
And all of the time that we were together
I still believe this love is forever
Sat all alone in a bar full of strangers
I raise my glass to you my true love
I don't feel lonely, nobody knows me
Old Amsterdam, our second home
If this wasn't love, then it wouldn't matter
If it wasn't your ring I wear on my finger
And all of the time that we were together
I still believe this love is forever
She broke my heart and now I can't function
I had forgot how to live on my own
Here in this place where we'd been so happy
Drowning my sorrows in old Amsterdam
If this wasn't love, then it wouldn't matter
If it wasn't your ring I wear on my finger
And all of the time that we were together
I still believe this love is forever

WAREHOUSE RIOT
04:03
|
|||
'Twas back in 1980 when the shrimpers came ashore,
Rode into our town for realities of war.
Discharge were performing punks they came from all around,
The air it was electric as the clock struck nine.
But Discharge didn't make it, the gig had been postponed,
Disappointment turned to anger as the watered beer flowed.
Many tales are told about what occurred that night,
But one things not in doubt it was the warehouse riot.
(chorus)
'Twas my first taste of anarchy,
Punks were all a panicky,
If you were there you won't forget the warehouse riot.
'Twas my first taste of anarchy,
Punks were all a panicky,
It went down in history as the warehouse riot.
Fireman he was dancing and he held aloft a keg,
Studded belts were swinging around about our heads.
Dodging flying debris I made it to the stairs,
I looked back and saw a mass of inhumanetous.
Heroes and villains it was kinda hard to tell,
The wounded hit the floor and we left them were they fell.
Broken glass and furniture were strewn across the floor,
Stepping over corpses as I made it to the door.
(chorus)
'Twas my first taste of anarchy,
Punks were all a panicky,
If you were there you won't forget the warehouse riot.
'Twas my first taste of anarchy,
Punks were all a panicky,
It went down in history as the warehouse riot.
There were no winners only losers that night,
Every-one went home and nobody died.
The wounds all healed but it took some time,
The scars remained throughout our lives.
But after the gig when all was quiet,
Lord Les returned though he always denied it.
To claim a souvenir, a memory of the day,
The whereabouts of Weezul's belt is still a mystery.
(chorus)
'Twas my first taste of anarchy,
Punks were all a panicky,
If you were there you won't forget the warehouse riot.
'Twas my first taste of anarchy,
Punks were all a panicky,
It went down in history as the warehouse riot.

Workers get up before dawn
Go to work and then come home
In a hurry 'cos they've got to get
Their homes secure before the sun has set
Afraid to go out on the street
You can't be sure what you might meet
Lock up your daughters, put up your feet
Open a can and watch TV
Chorus
You only see what they want you to see
Is it the truth if it's on the screen?
You only see what they want you to see
Are we all a part of REALITV?
Pick up the paper, what's the news?
Freedom of the press has been abused
Scandalous stories of royalty
How Harry's chopping down the family tree
Tabloids there to cover up
Protect us from reality
Pictures of bimbos with nothing on top
Distracts from life's futility
Chorus
You only see what they want you to see
Is it the truth if it's on the screen?
You only see what they want you to see
Are we all a part of REALITV?
Government spokesman on the news
It's on TV it must be true
We're in this together, me and you
When I feel pain he can feel it too
Things are getting better every day
I want to believe each word he says
But it's getting hard to see
where lying end and the truth begins
Chorus
You only see what they want you to see
Is it the truth if it's on the screen?
You only see what they want you to see
Are we all a part of REALITV?
