I'm in the dark. Walking streets that I know.
Seeing faces familiar. But cannot recall
Somehow I feel lost? These people were my friends?
They hurt the ones I loved. I believed in them.
I'm no idiot yet I followed their trail .
Stepping over casualties along the way.

Now I can bear to look myself in the eye.
Look in the mirror and not avert my eyes.
Learned to keep my thoughts locked inside my head.
And not unleash my ideals on an unsuspecting world.
My words they were my weapon used for hurt and not for good
Sometimes fuelled with alcohol, they got the taste for blood
Cos I look for the best in folk, yet always find the worst
I got low expectations now so I cannot be hurt
People always say that I think too much. Over-analyse and criticise.
No more crying home alone into my half empty glass
I wanna take the positives in my life

The years roll on and here I am.

What was I thinking coming to this place?
Too many questions that i'm afraid to ask.
Or is it the answers that I really fear
Will curiosity kill this cat
Here I am one score and ten years on.
There's broken people, big mistakes.
Summer sun and happy days,
not all been bad for heavens sake.
